Demouzy Contemporary Gallery Show runs May 14 through July 1, 2016 Boston, MA based Dominican painter,  Edward Telleria  had his first New York solo exhibition at the Demouzy Contemporary Gallery in Rockville Centre, NY on Long Island on May 14th. The show features 12 paintings from his collection of roses, eyes and horses and runs through July 1. Demouzy Contemporary is a 36 minute train ride from New York City, taking the Long Island Rail Road ( LIRR) from Penn Station Right to Rockville Centre, NY. The Gallery is only 50 yards away from Rockville Center train station, or around the corner from the West End train platform. Edward Telleria: Republica Dominicana Fashion Week 2015 (RDFW 2015)

Boston, MA based Dominican painter, Edward Telleria  was the featured artist at Republica Dominican Fashion Week 2015 (RDFW 2015) that took place in Santo Domingo, at Acropolis Center , from June 9 to June 14, 2015.  He was also a sponsor of the event.  The event was organized by the famous Dominican fashion designer, Jorge Diep . RDFW 2015 was dedicated to the late fashion designer, Oscar de la Renta.  Visual artist, Telleria, painted 10 renderings of de la Renta for the runway. Telleria also created a total of 10 paintings for the fashion runway at RDFW 2015.  The paintings depicted roses, faces, and horses, common themes throughout Telleria's work. Gerard Ellis - First Solo Show @ Lyle O'Reitzel Gallery

The Brooklyn, NY based Dominican painter, Gerard Ellis will have his first solo show at Lyle O'Reitzel Gallery in Santo Domingo on June 25, 2015 at 7:30PM. The show will consist of 17 paintings.  According to artist Ellis, his work contains a "strong social component that is a reflection of a world saturated with technology and information, where the ephemeral is becoming more present in our daily lives. "

28th National visual Arts Biennial - Dominican Republic

The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic announced, at the end of April, that this year's Biennial will be inaugurated on Sunday, August 16 at 7:00 PM at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in the Plaza de la Cultura, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Participation in the 28 National Visual Arts Biennial is open to Dominicans, whether residing in the country or living outside the country, and to legal foreign residents who have resided in the Dominican Republic for a minimum of five (5) years.  The 28 National Visual Arts Biennial will feature a program of side events including solo and group exhibitions, concerts, performances, lectures, symposia, guided tour; plus interactive encounters between artists and spectators, and educational workshops. Outside the Island: Essex Art Center

In November 2014, Essex Art Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts, United States, exhibited five female Dominican artists. F ive Dominican Artists show at Essex Art Center - In Spanish "Fuera de la Isla (Out of the Island)" (November 21 - December 12, Opening reception Fri. Nov 21st 5-7pm) features the works of five female Dominican artists; Rosalba Hernandez, Isabel Yepez, Aurora Diaz, Patricia Gamundi and Mirna Ledesma.
